Whilst our main business is in the making of wedding and occasion garments, we also make and hold a small stock of samples of daywear including, blouses, skirts, dresses and trousers. For the winter we can create a special jacket or coat.

So if you don't want to buy standard, mass-produced clothes from the high street shops and prefer to have something special and unique, please do come and browse through the collection of daywear we keep at the shop. All the designs are unique to Japlene and if a particular design takes your fancy then we will make up the garment specifically for you. We will take your measurements and create a made-to-measure garment that fits you perfectly. (Have a look at our page on dressmaking and fitting to learn more about how we do this.)

Of course you can choose the fabric you prefer as well. We keep a wide range of fabrics here and we can buy in many more, or you may have some fabric yourself that you would like us to use. Any of these options are possible so you can have unique, made-to-measure clothes that are both comfortable and well-fitting without being expensive.

What would you like us to make for you?

  • A classic shirt
  • A summer dress
  • An elaborate evening blouse
  • A warm winter coat
  • A woollen skirt
  • A lightweight pair of trousers
  • A lovely jacket
  • Something else?

With our 30 years of experience in making made-to-measure clothing you can be confident that we can make a beautiful garment for you that will fit perfectly. All our designs are unique to Japlene so you won't be able to buy these clothes on the High Street or on the internet.

We love creating beautiful clothes so please do drop into the shop and we'd be delighted to show you the designs and fabrics we have and to discuss your ideas for a made-to-measure garment for everyday wear. We're open from Tuesday to Friday 10am to 5pm and on Saturday from 9:30am to 2pm. If you prefer you can call us on 01865 764251 or drop us a line via our contact page. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
